My my My my
Dear Member of the New Haven Soccer Community,
New Haven Youth Soccer is sponsoring a Grade 8 Entry Level class facilitated by the Connecticut State Referee Program.  The Grade 8 Entry Level Clinic will train individuals wishing to Referee youth soccer games for NHYS and is required training for those wishing to do so. ("Grade 8" refers to the US Soccer "Referee Grade", not your current school grade level).

The link to sign up is ACTIVE NOW!

Clinic Requirements:

  • To enroll in the Entry Level Training you must be 13 years old by December 31, 2018
  • Pay the clinic fee - $93.95
  • Complete and pass all training modules and final exam (on-line)
  • Register for and attend the "in-class/field session" by signing up at the link below

Complete the online modules and attend the ONE TIME in person training class.

You can take any in person class that works for you (the class selection is posted on www.ctreferee.net) however you can attend the class we are putting on in nearby West Haven on Saturday March 10, 2017.

Once you successfully complete the online modules (at your own leisure / via open book) and attend the class you will be ready to officiate games all throughout Connecticut-including New Haven!

As a generous gift from the Board of New Haven Youth Soccer we will be purchasing uniforms (shirts, shorts, socks, flags, whistles, cards) for the first ten New Haven referees who successfully complete the course.

We will be taking your uniform sizes at the March 10th in class session.  If you attend a different session you will simply need to email your sizes to me so that I have them.

I will have your uniforms ordered and ready for you at our spring referee meeting which will be held before the season starts.  I will let you know the date/time of the meeting on March 10th (or via email).  This mandatory one hour meeting will be for only New Haven certified referees who wish to officiate games in town this spring and learn the basic in house rules of our club and learn from club officials.  We will also be reviewing how to utilize our online League Athletics game assignment system.  I will also be scheduling the first two weeks of games with you at this important meeting.

I assign games on a weekly basis therefore if you wish to referee one week and take a week off that is fine, this is a job that is flexible and works well if families wish to work together,

If you have questions navigating through the website please call Judy at 860-919-0850.  If you have New Haven specific questions please contact michael.galbicsek@gmail.com.
Have a wonderful day!
